Really Random

Why do we care what other people think about subjects like, religion, politics and sex?
When I ask for an opinion or thoughts on a subject, it's usually from someone whom I consider to be smarter or better informed than me on a topic. OR from someone that I would say represents a "common" or general opinion; not necessarily a literate or well informed one. The only interest I have in knowing what, say, Jennifer Aniston has to say about the Obama administration is in hearing her view with the thought in mind that she may influence SOME people.

Does the idea of a six year one term presidency make sense? What are the pros and cons? Sense nobody reads this blog, I'll prolly never know what others think. For me? It might make sense if it were in the context of some other broad govt changes. Democracy is messy, but the Office of the President is by and large the weakest branch of the govt. Unfortunately it gets the most press, but really it isn't a very powerful position from a governing standpoint. So would it be ok to give the office a longer time in place to try and persuade the electorate and congress to support a particular agenda? Wouldn't that sort of approach also give US more time to allow us to hear and process information relating to particular legislation.
