REMEMBERING
AND REFLECTING
I remember when Rev. Martin Luther King was shot and killed.
I was standing watch in the electronics shop at Naval Air Station Key West, FL. Also on watch with me was another sailor, a black fellow, and we began talking. I said what a tragedy it was that the black community had lost its most important leader in my lifetime up until then and what a talented and powerful speaker he was.
It was during this conversation that he made some comments that have stayed with me and shaped my life for the past 45 years.
He agreed with most of my comments and then said, "You can never know what it's like to be black in this country until you are black. You just can't". He went on to say that he was from New York but that (at that time) he couldn't safely go into Harlem even though he was a black man.
As the years have passed I have lived overseas for awhile, and worked in the Ivory Coast, Angola, and other West African countries. I was one of the few white people among a see of black faces. The cultures would vary but what didn't vary was my status as "the white man". It was a very odd feeling.
It was clear I was an "outsider" and the "odd man out". I was the one who didn't belong. What was I doing in their country? The question was felt but never spoken.
No matter what label belongs to you, white, black, gay, farmer, corporate mogul, I don't know what your life is like unless I "Walk a mile in your moccasins".
All I said summed up in the last six words.

- Be able to articulate a VISION extending to the end of their term in office + 6 years. It does not have to be MY vision but it will probably have to be something I can accept to garner my vote.
- Be able to articulate specific STRATEGIES which will be employed to achieve the vision
- Be able to articulate the specific TACTICS and the players who will execute those tactics which will be utilized to implement the strategies to achieve the vision

However, in the Republican Party there are some written restrictions but how binding they are is questionable.

Doesn't Anyone Else get Insulted by Press & Government Bullshit?
It just infuriates me to see and hear this kind of crap day in and day out. It's Saturday night and I will bet a dollar to a donut that I'll hear this same thing in the morning on CNN, FOX, Face the Nation, etc. and here it is ................ Now that is such a tired old linguistic trick!! 'Cause 2.3 billion a year is such a ridiculously low number that even the morons who think we are all morons know we would recognize THAT !!
That's just like saying deaths related to guns increased by 200% in 2015. i.e. deaths related to guns in 2014 was 1. deaths related to guns 2015 was 2. Gimme a break !!
Look, I've never claimed to be any kind of great intellect, but this is just too damn easy to understand, for the love of God.

Oklahoma recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they came from unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. HB 1804. This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a mistake.

Recently we passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegal's to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional SB 1102

Several weeks ago, we passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. Joining Texas , Montana and Utah as the only states to do so.

The federal Government has made bold steps to take away our guns. Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles. I'm sure that was a setback for the criminals The Liberals didn't like it -- But....
Guess what........... Oklahoma did it anyway.
Just this month, the state has voted and passed a law that ALL drivers’ license exams will be printed in English, and only English, and no other language. They have been called racist for doing this, but the fact is that ALL of the road signs are in English only. If you want to drive in Oklahoma , you must read and write English. Really simple.
By the way, the Liberals don't like any of this either
