- Iraq under Saddam Hussein was a primarily Sunni country.
- SUNNI : Think of them as the Methodists of Islam. Pretty liberal and tolerant.
- SHIA : Think of them as the Roman Catholics (of the 15-16 century) during the
inquisition days. NOT so tolerant and much more FUNDAMENTAL. - Eventually, US leaves Iraq and they vote in a mainly Shia government.
- Kurdistan : a northern area of "Iraq". These folks are mainly Sunni (Methodist).
